Siddartha became Buddha when he was awoken by recognizing that all of the creation from distraught ants to dying human beans is unified by suffering ( class notes ) . Buddha got his name from being awakened, wise, and he also learned. These words are an important role in his life because he was wise with what he had made in his life. He knew if he let go of desire he wouldn t suffer anymore, and from there he learned all the important steps that needed to be take such as following: four noble truths, eightfold path, and have the energy for yoga by putting your full attention into it. For him, following the four noble truths, eightfold path, yoga, and letting go of desire, he became the awakened one. In order to for him to progress in life he had to live alone, so he had to leave his family behind so that he could accomplish more, and be completely focused (Hayes, 2006). Abe Lincoln’s love for reading made his father’s relationship with Abe more distant. Since Lincoln did not have love for the plantations or farming, his father grew bitter towards his son’s future. Abe Lincoln’s coming of age required him to realize he was getting old. He decided to marry Mary Todd in 1842. A few years after his father died in 1851, Lincoln volunteered for the militia. This increased his interest in government and the Union. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican with Whig ideology. Lincoln succeeded in his campaign for congressmen and after that, he decided to run for president. Although his campaigns for presidency failed several times, Abraham Lincoln never gave up because he knew it was what he wanted to do. His last candidacy with Senator Douglass was a hard campaign, but Lincoln’s lead in free state votes guaranteed his election as a Republican president. This was only the beginning of a long crucial time for the North and South. The decreasing supplies at Fort Sumter lead to the start of the American Civil War. The American Civil War was a long lasting war between the Union [northern states] and the Confederacy [southern states]. The origin of this war was the quarrel issue regarding slavery. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln stated his view on the purpose of the war. One matter rose up about slavery, this was during 1862, the time the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. The Emancipation Proclamation was essentially a document that freed slaves from Confederate territory forever. As a result of the Emancipation Proclamation, Lincoln and his administration decided to adopt a Constitutional Amendment to abolish slavery. This is now known as the Thirteenth Amendment. Although Abe Lincoln did not live to see the issue of the Thirteenth Amendment, his presidency is the foundation of that Amendment. In November 1865, Lincoln was reelected to be president. They are trying to earn money so they will be able to own their own ranch someday. Lennie has an obsession with petting small animals especially rabbits. George tells Lennie that he if he gets in any trouble he wont be able to tend the rabbits at the farm. George uses this as a bribe to keep Lennie out of trouble. Once they were hired, both George and Lennie went right to work. Later, as they waited for lunch to be served, Curley walked in, the ranch owner's son. He was there to look over the new men. After Curley had gone, Candy, the bunkhouse swamper, warned them about the young man. A former prizefighter, Curley tried to show how much of a man he was by picking on others. He was also an insecure husband, he became insanely jealous of anyone who even got near his wife. Seeming to sense that Curley would bring them trouble, Lennie now became agitated and nervous about the job, but with no money to fall back on, the pair was forced to continue working at the ranch in order to make enough money for their dream farm. On the third day at the ranch Lennie was in the farm playing with a puppy that Slim, another worker at the ranch, had given him. The rest of the men were in town. While he was in the barn Curley’s wife walked in. She began to show him how soft her hair was because he seemed to like the soft feel of the dog. He began to touch her hair and he couldn’t let go. Grief of my sons exile hath stoppd her breath. After Romeo was dead Lord and Lady Montague were grieving over Romeos death as their only son was dead. This situation was too much for Lady Montague to handle and she died too, this showed how much she really loved her son and how much she did care. This is much like Lady Capulet who also loves her daughter but she does not know how to express this. Lady Capulet shows her love to Juliet when she shows her grief toward her death, O me, O me, my child, my only life! Revive, look up, or I will die with thee. This shows Lady Capulets grief over her only child, she has shown how much she loved her child, as she was the only child she had. Lady Capulet mainly wants Juliet to have money so she does not struggle in life, so she wanted her to marry Paris, as he was wealthy. This is the only thing she wanted for Juliet and not for the love. The gallant, young, and noble gentlemen, The county Paris, at Saint Peters Church,Shall happily make thee there a joyful bride. Lady Capulet has surprised Juliet by telling her about the wedding being so soon Lady Capulet did not realise that Juliet was not ready and she had rushed things forward too quickly. The language she uses with Juliet is formal compared to the way Juliet talks to the Nurse which is not formal, Tell me daughter Juliet, How stands your dispositions to be married? , She has come up to Juliet to talk about the marriage as she did want to know about who she loved but it does not matter to Lady Capulet, as she wanted to marry Juliet to Paris. She did not really interact with her daughter as much as a mother should; this is what keeps them apart and does not give them a good relationship. This makes Juliet feel unwanted and she feels there is no one there for her and ends up going to the Nurse and Friar when she needed help. Lady Capulet relies on Lord Capulet to take care of all the preparation of the wedding and so she does not worry about anything. Like Lady Capulet, Lord Capulet is not a good parent, as he does not have a good relationship with his daughter. He only likes his daughter when she listens to him, and everything is fine but if she were to disobey him then he will get angry and show all his anger in his violence. I tell thee what: get thee to church a Thursday, Or never after look me in the face. Speak not, reply not, do not answer me! He has left her a place where she is forced to marry Paris or she will lose the chance to see her father ever again. This has really made her feel sorrow and she feels like there is no one for her, this gives her the decision of suicide as she has no reason to be alive. As he has forced her to marry Paris, she knows she cannot as she has already married Romeo. Romeo and Juliet were star-crossed lovers and their only fall was fate. Fate is something, which they or nobody can control and led them to their eventual death. When Friar John could not deliver the message fate was the cause of this and the plan ended up going wrong. I believe that the most inadequate parent was Lady Capulet as she did not know how to show her love towards Juliet and did not know what Juliet wanted. She made Juliet feel unwanted and like no one was there for her to be looked out for. The Nurse was the main carer for Juliet and she was the only one who showed her love towards her and used her wisdom to look out for her. As soon as the situation got out of hand then the Nurse betrayed her and left Juliet on her own. Romeos parents were not capable to look after him as they did not know what he wanted, leading him to go to the Friar. The Friar was the only person who cared and wanted to help Romeo. When the plan went wrong the Friar was left on a predicament as Romeo had come to early and he saw both of them dead, as he was afraid of the consequences and decided to run away and left them to lie.
